The Kawasaki system is an electric generator
that is run on a gaseous biofuel (biogas) and is intented for the powering a neighbourhood or small village. The engine used in the system is a Kawasaki 850 which is a gasoline engine with indirect injection.
This gaseous biofuel-based electricity generator is used for medium electricity production (M) and is suitable for people in region 4 (R4). The amount of power produced is 20.1 kW. Note that a dynamo or alternator is not yet attached to this unit, so still needs to be added to produce electricity.
Note that electricity production from gaseous biofuel can be requested at will/exactly when needed. As such, for effective use of the power, neither a link-up to the mains electricity grid + net metering nor an energy storage system needs to be foreseen.
This electricity generator can be used in combination with a biodigester, for example generating biogas using human waste.
